The story of "Sakuntala's Ring" is based on Kalidasa's drama "Sakuntala", one of the most famous love stories in world literature. The illustrations were commissioned by the Bayerisches Staatsballett on the occasion of the revival of the ballet "La Bayadère" in May 2023. We asked seven illustrators to each illustrate one act of Kalidasa's "Sakuntala" in their signature style.
